Milo
Dear: L.A. Animal Shelter
I am writing this note to tell you about the dog I adopted from your shelter:
In Sept of 2004 I adopted a dog by the name of Milo, he is a black and white Staffi mix ³ bulldog breed² he was 2 years old when he came to our home and into our family, being a bulldog breed was an advantage because we already had 2 bulldogs that WE LOVE VERY MUCH one of which is getting old. We thought if we got a younger dog while our old dog was still able to show the new dog ³Milo² around that he would adapt to our lifestyle much easier. The day I brought Milo home the dogs of course had to adjust to a new dog moving in and becoming part of our family, this went relatively well.
Milo also had to get used to the farm animals we have, horses, cows, a duck and frequent visits from neighbouring Ginny hens, this went well to.
We had a few problems to overcome with Milo, he grew very close to me in a very short time. When I went outside without him he would get up on the kitchen table to look out the window, it took us about 2 weeks to get that situation cleared up, then there was a stealing problem, when we would all go away leaving the dogs home alone, we would come home to find pieces of our clothing in Milo¹s bed, not usually chewed just in his bed one piece at a time usually mine.
He dirtied in the house only twice and that was when we first got him. OH YES and he would steal the occasional dish with cookies in it or bread from the counter when we all went away. We think these problems stemmed from a fear of being abandoned because with time and patience they decreased; now they are very rare instances.
We all- My Husband, my Son and myself all LOVE this dog MILO very much. We have a little Grandson 1 yr old and Milo is very good with him.
My Husband has been teaching Milo with the help from our old dog Lucy to work with the cattle, he is not as good as Lucy yet, but is getting the hang of it.
So the out come of our story is: The dog MILO I got from your Shelter is a great dog not perfect but who is?
Milo has fit into our family so well it¹s as though he is meant to be here, he is a very loyal and protective friend to everyone in our family.
If I ever feel the need for another dog, I will know where to look, what a satisfying feeling to give a dog a good home and to feel the Love he returns to us everyday.
