Our much loved toy poodle died in May and by August we were suffering acute 'dog withdrawal.' Several friends and family members had adopted dogs from shelters so it seemed natural for us to do the same. Our 'small, non-shedding puppy' turned out to be a medium sized dog who gives new meaning to the term 'bad hair day'. Bertie is known throughout our town for his engaging ways. His patient optimism and loveable manner have made him many friends of all ages. Our home would be very empty without him.
