Nellie (Aruba)

Hi there! You may remember me as “Aruba” from the LA Animal Shelter, but I am now named “Nellie”.  Ever since my family adopted me in June 2007, I am having an excellent time in my new home!!  Being the “first child” of the family, I am extremely spoiled!!  My family has recently moved into a house with a large lot, so now I have a huge yard to run around in!!  My Dad loves taking me on walks every night in our new quiet neighbourhood, while my Mom thinks I’m adorable and takes pictures of me no matter what I’m doing.  I am quite a cuddly little puppy, and love to roll over and show my white belly.  Because most of my family’s relatives on Ontario, we get to go on many long car rides, where I am extremely quiet and fall asleep in the back seat.  Once we get to Ontario, I have many other puppy friends that I get to play with non-stop!  I love going to the off-leash dog parks there to meet new friends!  I get along great with dogs and even a friend’s ferret, but so far, most cats are too scared to come near me.  Everyone in Ontario always mentions what a great, well-behaved dog I am!  In the Maritimes, I especially love the many walking trails, exploring the water and all of the rocks at local beaches, and in the wintertime - chasing snowballs and eating snow!
